East Devon & West Dorset Nature Journaling Club
This club is for established nature journalers, past workshop or course attendees. Total beginners are welcome to join us to dip your toe in the water and see if nature journaling is for you, but note that these are untaught sessions, I will be nature journaling as well!
Morning sessions involve a journaling outing to a nature reserve or nature spot within East Devon or West Dorset. Please again bear in mind that the sessions are untaught (I will be journaling right along with you!) although plenty of guidance, encouragement, and feedback will be provided on request. If you would like more information before starting, I recommend you book on to one of my in-person or online courses or workshops first.
Sketchbooks, pencils, and prompt sheets are available for sale at each event though you are encouraged to bring your own materials.
Afternoon sessions involve some “write up” time in the cosy Nature Journaling Centre at Umborne Bridge Studio, Colyton. Again, these are not taught workshops but a chance to journal the morning’s experiences (or anything else) in company, with guidance provided. There’ll also be art materials available for you to try during the session.
Location
The location for morning sessions varies. The afternoon sessions are located at The Nature Journaling Centre at Umborne Bridge Studio, Unit 1 Dolphin Street, Colyton, Devon, EX24 6LU.
How to join us
The club usually meets on the last Sunday of every month. Payment for the club is on a donation basis with a requested minimum of £10 per session (£20 for the day). Fifty percent of proceeds from the morning session go to the morning session nature reserve as a donation for upkeep so please give generously if you can. The remainder covers basic costs for my time and administering the club. However, don’t let a low income stop you from coming; anything you can spare is enough. The club is run on a donations basis in an effort to keep it available to all. Note that in winter, a small-change donations pot will also be passed around for use of the studio heating.
