I started nature journaling in 2016 initially as a hobby and wellbeing exercise to connect with a new part of the country, learn about the nature here, and finally get back to creativity after a long break.
Since I started, I have filled about 15 journals and still going. I am happier, infinitely more creative, and dedicated to sharing this wonderful activity with other people.
My art skills are unrecognisably better since I began and part of that was learning a new mindset, a new way of thinking about creativity that centres the process rather than the end result.
Now it is your turn! I’ve made it easy for you to start with this great range of courses and tutorials plus an exciting 10-week programme coming in January 2027.

Does membership include all your on-demand courses as well?
YES! Every video course I have made so far is included for you as a part of the membership. You retain access for as long as you are a member. For permanent access, each must be bought separately.
When are the Zoom classes?
On an alternating basis, Zoom classes take place on the last Thursday or Sunday of each month between 4 and 6 PM UK time. The recording is uploaded to the Member Resources section as soon as possible after the class.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, of course. It is easy to cancel whenever you want to from the “Billing” page of your student profile. You are also welcome to come and go as you please, or to just buy each class separately if you prefer.
How are Zoom classes announced?
The times for the Zoom tutorials are given inside Member Resources. All students are also added to a members-only mailing list and will receive the Zoom information, and inspiration for the monthly theme each month.
I am low income/can't afford this - can you help me?
Yes, please send an email to alex@alexboonart.com with a request for a free month due to your financial circumstances. I am happy to give some free access to those who need it to get you inspired to start nature journaling.
Can I try it out first?
Try the free class “What is a Nature Journal?” via the link above and/or join the community to get a flavour of what’s happening inside the NJC.
Is access to classes permanent?
If you’ve bought the class separately, your will retain access permanently. If you are part of the Nature Journaling Circle Membership, access will be retained only as long as you remain a paying member, with access being revoked at the end of your payment period.
Are all classes beginner friendly?
I try to make sure that all classes are accessible but some do rely on previous skills developed within the membership. The above list gives a good starting point for total beginners. The new Nature Journaling Programme, coming January 2027, will provide a complete course.
How can I pay?
Payment is taken by Stripe within the Nature Journaling Circle system. PayPal or bank transfer are also available for annual memberships, contact me to discuss. Unfortunately, the platform does not at this time allow monthly PayPal subscriptions.
Is there another way to get a flavour of the courses?
If you prefer not to watch videos, digital (PDF) guides of my main courses are available from the shop part of this website.
